The Lil Red Schoolhouse Music Series at the historic North Bedeque School Hall continues with upcoming performance from Julia Bentley on August 28 at 7:30 pm. Presented at the PEI Fox Den, the intimate concert series showcases Canadian singer-songwriters, offering an intimate concert experience in one of PEI’s unique heritage venues.

Julia Bentley will be on stage for her first performance in the series. Bentley is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter and pianist whose music blends classical training with contemporary songwriting across indie pop, folk, jazz, and cabaret influences. A graduate of the University of Toronto’s music program, she brings technical skill and harmonic depth to her work, with lyrics that explore identity, vulnerability, and emotional nuance, often with a playful spin. She co-wrote and produced the viral anthem “Canadian, Please.” In addition to her original work, Bentley is known for her interpretations and covers of well-known songs, playing with arrangements to offer new harmonic and emotional perspectives.
