Mind the Music Podcast Live Episode, Music, & Art

A live episode of Mind the Music Podcast with host and musician Trevor Clements will take place at Beaconsfield Carriage House on June 28 from 1–4 pm, where he will talk to musicians about music and issues related to mental health. Guest will be Julia Robichaud, and there will be time at the end for a Q&A before Julia will put on a performance. This first event is by donation, with a suggested donation of $5–10 but nobody will be turned away if they can’t afford to donate. Anyone who donates at least $12 will get a free ticket to the evening event, so they will not need to pay cover in the evening.

The evening event, taking place from 6:30–9:30 pm, is an art exhibition with three artists who will display their art but also create art in real time while two bands provide music simultaneously. Artists Austin MacKinnon, Jacob Bulger, and Isabelle Duclos will bring a mix of traditional art such as photography, sketching, and painting, as well as modern art on unique media such as a motorcycle gas tank of an 80s era Honda Goldwing, kayak paddles, and digital media.
The first musical set will be from a new electronica band, DOT.DOT.DASH. The second set will be by Trevor Lowell Clements & the Barn Cat Poetry Beat, which does beat poetry in a jam band context with elements of blues, rock, funk and jazz. For the third set, the members of both bands will take the stage together and improvise some unique music. There will also be an element of multimedia projected during the show.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
