Common Sound Concert Series

Common Sound launches on May 23 at 7 pm at Beaconsfield Carriage House in Charlottetown.

The curated, year-round concert series presents one concert each month, featuring artists from across Atlantic Canada. It serves as an artistic bridge, bringing genres, audiences, and artists together through intentionally eclectic programming. Each concert is grounded in a shared commitment to musical quality.

Founded and organized by composer Sandro Manzon after returning to Canada following several years in Europe, Common Sound will take place in venues across Charlottetown, with each event shaped by its own atmosphere and musical character.

The opening concert will begin with a short set of contemporary Canadian minimalist piano music, followed by a guest set from Ray Knorr and Romy Munkres, whose twin fiddle playing draws from Canadian and American traditions, classical training, and a wide range of influences. Headlining the night is Pallmer, an experimental chamber-pop trio from Fredericton, New Brunswick, whose sound draws on classical music and sound art while combining cello, viola, synthesizers, and vocals in fluid, genre-crossing ways.

With future concerts already in development, Common Sound hopes to offer Charlottetown audiences a welcoming new place to encounter excellent live music from both local and visiting artists. The series is rooted in the belief that thoughtful programming can do more than present great performances. It can bring people together, spark new artistic connections, and help build a stronger Atlantic Canadian music community.

Admission is at the door with a pay-what-you-can option.
