Ballet Jörgen’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream

As part of its 30th anniversary celebration, Harbourfront Theatre in Summerside presents Ballet Jörgen: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2026) on May 8 at 7:30 pm.

The whimsical production reimagines Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, with choreographer Bengt Jörgen trading in the Greek woods and setting the work in Canada’s North. The performance features a forest setting inspired by the tundra, with mischievous fairies alongside animals such as moose, beavers, and bears.

The professional showcase is also a community celebration, with up to ten local aspiring dancers (ages 9–17) joining the company on stage through the Local Participant Program.

This lighthearted, hilarious production is suitable for a wide audience, including families.
