Conservation moments
Nature PEI AGM and presentation

January’s Nature PEI meeting will feature an illustrated presentation by Julie-Lynn Zahavich titled “Stories from the Field.” The evening begins with a short AGM at 7:30 pm on January 6 at Beaconsfield Carriage House in Charlottetown, followed by a brief raffle break. The presentation begins at approximately 8 pm.
Zahavich will share a collection of photos and stories gathered over 15 years of working in the conservation field on PEI.
“My goal is to share some of the magical moments I’ve experienced in nature to hopefully inspire others to spend time outdoors and notice the plants and animals, big and small, that share our environment,” she says.
Zahavich works with the PEI Department of Environment, Energy and Climate Action as a Forest Conservation Specialist and volunteers as Program Coordinator for Nature PEI. She holds a Master of Science in Environment and Management from Royal Roads University (Victoria, BC), has worked with several Island environmental non-profits, and is an avid fibre artist in her spare time.
Nature PEI meetings are free and open to all. Annual memberships will be available at the meeting (cash or cheque).
The presentation will also be livestreamed on Facebook @naturepei. For more information, visit naturepei.ca.
