Harmony House in Hunter River has announced its 2026 season. Featuring a cast of local artists, the lineup includes the return of Inside the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, Inside American Pie, Behind The Veil, and Ladies of the Canyon.

Fifty years ago, the SS Edmund Fitzgerald sank in Lake Superior, taking all 29 crew members with her. This tragic shipwreck was immortalized in song by Canadian songwriter Gordon Lightfoot. In this signature Harmony House production, Mike Ross and a band of PEI musicians and storytellers bring the story of this ill-fated ship to life. Inside The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald: Songs of Gordon Lightfoot runs on select dates from May 29 to July 18, featuring Shane Pendergast, Brielle Ansems, Cameron MacDuffee, Alicia Toner, Greg Gale, and Mike Ross.

After five years of sold-out shows and a successful three-week run at Toronto’s CAA Theatre/Mirvish Productions, Inside American Pie returns to Harmony House on select dates from July 22 to September 24. The production will also make its UK premiere at Curve Theatre in Leicester in February–March 2026. Many people know that “American Pie” was written by Don McLean to commemorate the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and The Big Bopper. What is less known is that the song is jam-packed with references to other fascinating events in history. Mike Ross and Islanders Brielle Ansems, Greg Gale, Alicia Toner, and Kirk White explore the mysteries of this #1 hit—What happened that tragic night in 1959? How do The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, and Charles Manson all fit in? Why were the Rolling Stones blamed for a murder? And who was Miss American Pie?

Research and writing for both Inside the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and Inside American Pie are by Sarah Wilson and Mike Ross, with musical arrangements and music direction by Mike Ross.

Following its successful world premiere at Harmony House last year, Behind the Veil: A Lucy Maud Concert Experience returns on select dates from August 5 to September 26. Featuring all original compositions, Alicia Toner and Mike Ross created a concert experience that examines the life and soul of iconic Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery through letters, diary entries, poetry, and song.  The tight-knit ensemble includes Brielle Ansems, Carlie Howell, Julain Molnar as the voice of Lucy Maud, Toner and Ross, with Max Gallant on drums.

Ladies of the Canyon, Harmony House’s 2025 headlining concert with 34 performances, returns from September 30 to October 24. Joni Mitchell, Mama Cass, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Carole King, The Eagles—these are just a handful of the songwriters who took up residence in the legendary neighbourhood of Laurel Canyon in California. Located just outside Los Angeles, this artist commune created a musical alchemy that birthed some of the greatest songs and artists of the 20th century. Created by Alicia Toner and Mike Ross, the production features Toner, Brielle Ansems, Robin Anne Ettles, and Emilea May telling the story of this time in music history and celebrating the songs that came out of Laurel Canyon.
