Bedeque Area Historical Museum

More than 30 additional exhibits on view

The official opening of the museum’s summer exhibitions takes place July 4 from 10 am–12 noon. Admission is free and everyone is welcome. New exhibitions include a large-scale model of the Coady Farm in North Wiltshire, PEI, as it appeared in the 1930s and ’40s, and a display marking the 200th anniversary of the founding of Bedeque Baptist Church in 1826. More than 30 additional exhibits are on view, including displays on the Mi’kmaq, Acadian and Loyalist settlement, the settlement of the communities of Freetown and Kinkora, the Borden Ferry service, and Clocks of the Island, 1770–1960. Visitors can also explore the L. M. Montgomery Lower Bedeque Schoolhouse, featuring the story of Montgomery’s time in Bedeque and early schooling in the area. The museum is open until September 6, Tuesday–Saturday from 10 am–5 pm and Sunday from 1–5 pm. Regular admission applies after July 4. 950 Callbeck St, Bedeque.
