PEI Photography Club

44th annual show at The Arts Guild

Part of the exchange in the Group Photo Conversation

The PEI Photography Club’s 44th annual show will be held this year from June 17–27 in the Black Box at The Arts Guild. All are invited to attend the celebratory reception on June 20 from 2–5 pm.

“For this year’s show, we are continuing with our open exhibition format,” says Elaine Schuller, photo show chair. “The goal is to encourage our diverse members to express who they are as photographers, with no limitations. No judging, no winners. Just an exhibition of what we are all about.”

Club members will present a series of photographs on a theme and in a style of their choice. There will also be a slide show/video component projected onto one of the Black Box walls.

New this year is a display featuring a Group Photo Conversation held among several members of the club. As Schuller explains, “Do you remember playing the game of Telephone as a child, and how distorted a sentence can become by the time it is whispered to everyone in the circle? A photo conversation works on the same principle!”

“[The show] also encourages members to develop their personal skills and learn through new challenges,” says Phil Matusiewicz, club president.

The exhibition is open daily from 12–5 pm for viewing, except on June 21. Visitors are encouraged to check theguildpei.com for updated opening hours. For more info, visit pei.art/the-arts-guild or peiphotoclub.com.
