Evangeline Bluegrass
Spinney Brothers and Moyenne Rig headline festival

All types of bluegrass music, from old-timey to modern to folk- and country-influenced styles, will be featured during the 2026 edition of the Evangeline Bluegrass and Traditional Music Festival from July 10–12 on the Exhibition Grounds in Abram-Village. Special spotlight performers during this 24th edition of the festival include the Spinney Brothers from Nova Scotia and the young Acadian-folk-bluegrass ensemble Moyenne Rig from New Brunswick.
The Spinney Brothers, from the Annapolis Valley, have made a resurgence in the past couple of years. With their traditional style of bluegrass, gospel, and classic country music, they continue to deliver the “real deal.” The group is made up of brothers Allan Spinney (guitar and vocals) and Rick Spinney (banjo and vocals), along with Gary Dalrymple (mandolin) and Terry Mumford (bass). They will perform hour-long sets at 2 pm and 8 pm Saturday and at 11 am Sunday.
Moyenne Rig, featuring Martin Bourque on guitar, Jeremy Richard on mandolin, Noah Ouellette on banjo, and Jacob Ouellette on bass and guitar, has performed extensively on festival stages across the Maritimes, Quebec, Manitoba, and even France since 2018. Known for their infectious chemistry, charming accent, and high-energy performances, Moyenne Rig quickly builds a strong connection with audiences. In July 2025, the band released its debut album featuring 12 original songs. They’ll be the headlining closing act Friday night at 9:15 pm and again at 1 pm Saturday.
Other headliners on all three days will include Bluegrass Diamonds and Eddy Poirier & Grassline, both from New Brunswick. Also featured during the weekend are Common Ground from Nova Scotia, along with Janet McGarry, the Stiff Family, Bluestreak (featuring hometown singer Marcella Richard), SK Bluegrass, and Dawson et les Country Boys, all from PEI.
A pre-festival event called Le Gros Jam will take place Thursday from 7:30–10 pm in the Acadian Festival Barn next door.
Weekend bracelets, day passes, and evening passes are available at the gate. Camping is available on site. More details are available at evangelinebluegrassfestival.com.
