Souris Show Hall

Three major collaborative performances in June

Carsie Blanton, Joe Plowman, Mathias Kom, and Arielle Sharratt

The historic Souris Show Hall continues to present a variety of programming this summer. The 1891 theatre has been undergoing a renaissance since reopening in the wake of pandemic shutdowns. This June, it will host three major collaborative performances.

First, the Hall will host the Festival of Small Halls on June 13 with Harmony! at the Show Hall, featuring The Pairs, JD Crosstown, and Tzu-Cheng Wang.

On June 16, American songwriter Carsie Blanton returns to Souris with local globetrotters The Burning Hell. Blanton and The Burning Hell first met while performing at the Show Hall in 2023, a meeting that turned into a close collaborative relationship resulting in the 2026 protest album Everything is Great! and a sold-out European tour this spring. They will revisit this collaborative political performance at the Show Hall—their only North American appearance—before Blanton, backed by The Burning Hell, opens for Billy Bragg throughout the Maritimes.

Vishtèn, the Magdalen Islands/PEI supergroup, returns to the Show Hall on June 30 with Grammy Award-winning Cajun fiddler Louis Michot. Audiences can expect some of the finest Acadian and Cajun traditional music being performed today.

Later in the summer, the Show Hall will present Island country artist Ben Chase, Kelly Mooney and Salt Water Dollies, Ontario folk group Maggie’s Wake, Tanya Davis’ Mass for Shut Outs, and Island fiddler Richard Wood.
