Under the Spire
2026 season set to get underway at Historic St. Mary’s

Concerts return to Historic St. Mary’s in Indian River as Under the Spire Festival launches its 2026 season.
This year’s lineup showcases diverse musical genres, including classical, folk, country, blues, jazz, Celtic, and contemporary East Coast music. Audiences can expect performances from Island favourites, emerging talent, and internationally acclaimed artists, including JUNO and East Coast Music Award winners.
Highlights include the Barra MacNeils opening the season as they celebrate their 40th anniversary; Like Father, Like Son, a collaboration between Shane and Mike Pendergast and Dave and Jud Gunning; the return of Island favourite Rose Cousins; and Australian blues artist Lloyd Spiegel with Suzie Vinnick.
The Under the Spire Concert Series schedule for June and July includes The Barra MacNeils on June 27, Ron Sexsmith on July 3, Rose Cousins on July 18, Joel Plaskett on July 24, Brooklyn Wood and members of the PEI Symphony Orchestra on July 26, and Lloyd Spiegel and Suzie Vinnick on July 31.
The festival also continues its commitment to community programming with several special events throughout the season, including Arioso and Island A Capella on June 14, the Youth Legacy Awards featuring Harmonia and the top Kiwanis champions on June 21, and Legion Choir on July 5.
Located at 1374 Hamilton Road, just outside Kensington in the Malpeque Bay area, Historic St. Mary’s is renowned for its sunsets, architecture, and exceptional acoustics.
