Breathe
Vivian Beer

Vivian Beer, a Charlottetown, PEI-based songwriter and recording artist, is releasing her new concept EP Breathe as a series of singles that began April 10, starting with the EP intro “Threshold” and the first song, “Reckoning.” The remaining songs will be released monthly until August.
The project blends vocals, cinematic sound design, and progressive metal, exploring themes of identity, conscience, and transformation in a rapidly changing world.
Written in the aftermath of the pandemic, Breathe reflects on the forces shaping our lives and the inner shifts many have experienced since that time. The songs follow a narrative arc that moves through stages of reckoning and redefinition.
Each track represents a chapter in that journey. The EP opens with the intro “Threshold,” capturing the moment when familiar structures begin to fracture and we realize we are crossing into something unknown. The first released song, “Reckoning,” represents an event where we can’t go back, only forward toward redefinition.
Breathe draws on cinematic sound and layered instrumentation to mirror the emotional progression of the narrative.
Music credits include Vivian Beer (lyrics, composition, main vocals) and Garrett Sherwood (drums). The EP was produced by David Rashed and Vivian Beer and recorded, mixed, and mastered by David Rashed at The Studio at The Guild in Charlottetown. The official music video was produced by Daniel Hashimoto.
Vivian Beer’s work blends cinematic textures with progressive metal and narrative-driven songwriting. Her music explores the history of our times, themes of identity, and the forces shaping our lives.
