Winterval 2026
Celebration of community and winter in Three Rivers

As January settles in and Prince Edward Island dons its familiar winter coat, the Town of Three Rivers is preparing to welcome residents and visitors alike to Winterval 2026, taking place January 23–25. More than just a festival, Winterval has become a celebration of community spirit—a reminder that winter on PEI is not merely something to endure, but something to embrace.
This year’s festival stretches across Three Rivers, with the Rodd Brudenell River Resort serving as the central hub and other local venues joining in, including Kings Playhouse, Bogside Brewing, Copper Bottom Brewing, the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre, and the Montague Rotary Library.
Winterval regulars will see the return of the horse-drawn carriage rides, indoor play zone, SEA Frolic zone, outdoor skating, sledding and games (weather permitting), the lighted trail, and of course, the fireworks signature finale.
Winterval 2026 is also a year of exciting new growth as the festival rolls out several additions that promise to elevate the experience for all ages.
Chief among them is the GFL Stage, an enclosed, heated outdoor venue that will host a full slate of entertainment, from children’s performers and musicians to a magician and a dazzling winter science show by STEAM. This new stage brings a fresh energy and expanded lineup that will keep families engaged all weekend.
New evening highlights include the Fire and Ice Dance, offering a blend of winter ambiance and lively music, and the Light Brigade, a New Orleans–style parade in the heart of Three Rivers.
Local snack vendors will be popping up throughout the festival grounds, and accommodation offerings have grown as well, Lane’s Riverhouse Inn hosting a movie night on their large screen, and Rodd Brudenell River Resort continuing its tradition with guest-only indoor play sessions, festive buffet breakfasts, pool parties, and additional movie nights.
Winterval isn’t just an event—it’s an investment in local tourism, community connection, and seasonal creativity. It gives families something to look forward to in the heart of winter, provides local businesses with a welcome boost, and showcases Three Rivers as a vibrant place to visit year-round.
