“What You See in Me”

By Lawrence Maxwell and Brooke MacArthur

PEI country artists Lawrence Maxwell and Brooke MacArthur have teamed up to release their single, “What You See in Me.”

Written by Maxwell, the new song sheds light on self-acceptance and the reassurance given by loved ones. It is a romantically raw track, expressing the humility and vulnerability during the butterfly stage in a relationship. Maxwell, Music PEI’s 2024 Entertainer of the Year, and rising country artist MacArthur deliver a powerful duet with tender moments, earnest storytelling, and soaring harmonies.

The pair recently performed together in Country Roads, a residence show at the PEI Brewing Co in Charlottetown produced by Craig Fair with an all-Island lineup. “What You See in Me” was inspired by songs featured in the show.

Recorded at The Hill Sound Studio with producer Colin Buchanan, the track features Maxwell (vocals, guitar), MacArthur (vocals), Josh Langille (drums), Kinley Dowling (violin), Roland Beaulieu (guitar), and Colin Buchanan (bass, guitar, keys). Mastering was done by John McLaggan (Parachute Mastering), with photography by Justin Rix, and cover art by Hood&Searle.
