At Harmony House Theatre, guests often say that they feel right at home, as soon as they cross through the doors. For Patrick Ledwell and Mark Haines, the theatre’s been the perfect place to create new shows, and holiday evenings that bring together friends and family.
This December, “The Island Christmas Review” returns to Harmony House, for its annual tour through the merriment and the music of the season.
“I’m writing yule-fuelled comedy, and hope it all goes down as sweetly and sharply as a just-bitten chickenbone candy,” says show co-creator, Patrick Ledwell. “Mark has widened the scope of the Christmas tunes. You’re going to hear everything from ‘Old Town Road’ to ‘O Holy Night.’ Only at Christmas, with a believing audience, can you travel that far in just one night.”
The show runs 4 nights, from December 11 to 14.
Harmony House Theatre was recently honoured to receive the 2019 Premier’s Award for Tourism Excellence. Fresh from this good news, recognizing twelve years of hospitality and hard work, the theatre is happy to announce that “The Island Summer Review” will be returning for its eighth season in summer 2020.
Haines and Ledwell have already started writing new chapters for this edition, which they say revolves around the role of music in people’s lives. From recognizable classic rock radio, to songs that bring us back to pivotal moments, the show will explore how music finds us on the road, and helps us navigate our way down it.
“The Island Summer Review” will run each Thursday and Friday night at 8 pm through the summer.
