Tribute to Loretta Lynn

Show returns to Harbourfront Theatre

Jolee as Loretta Lynn

After a successful show at Summerside’s Harbourfront Theatre last year, Jolee and her band are taking their tribute to Loretta Lynn on a Maritime tour, with a return stop at Harbourfront on July 25.

A Tribute to Loretta Lynn: From the Heart, featuring Jolee, invites audiences on a walk down memory lane as she brings to life the songs and stories of country legend Loretta Lynn, the Coal Miner’s Daughter. From Lynn’s humble beginnings in Butcher Hollow, Kentucky, to the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, and her final days in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, the show offers a musical journey through her life. From the iconic “Coal Miner’s Daughter” to the poignant “Lay Me Down,” the performance aims to be a show from the heart.

Jolee is a singer, songwriter and actor from Kings County, PEI. She began singing at an early age and has released two CDs, Shore Rhapsody and Going Home, as well as appearing on numerous compilation albums. She received two Music PEI nominations for Female Vocalist and Country Recording, and a Traditional Roots Recording nomination for Going Home.

Jolee performs country, Celtic and folk songs, along with original compositions. She has toured with Canada’s Queen of Country Music, Carroll Baker, and is known for portraying country legends such as Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Crystal Gayle and June Carter Cash.

The band includes Richard Wood (keyboard and fiddle), Alan Dowling (drums), Naomi Patkai (harmony vocals), Danny MacNevin (guitar) and Tom DesRoches (bass).
