The new Blythe
Brandon Stafford takes on role in Anne & Gilbert

Audiences will see a new face as Gilbert Blythe in Anne & Gilbert, The Musical when actor Brandon Stafford takes on the role at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall in Charlottetown next month.
Stafford, a teacher and founder of Stafford Acting Studio, says he feels a deep personal connection to Gilbert’s character, particularly his patience, integrity, and quiet confidence. “Gilbert knew what he wanted, and he manifested this with Anne through kindness and patience,” he says. “That really resonates with how I try to live and work.”
Originally from London, Ontario, Stafford moved to Prince Edward Island three years ago after what he describes as an “energetic pull” during a conference visit with his wife, Sam. The couple relocated less than three weeks later and now call Rice Point home. Stafford says that instinct-driven leap mirrors Gilbert’s own courage to follow his heart and commit to his path.
Now stepping into the role at 34 and at a new stage of life, Stafford brings both professional experience and personal insight to the character.
The 23rd season of Anne & Gilbert, The Musical will be staged at the Florence Simmons Performance Hall in Charlottetown from May 5 to October 26. Tickets are available now at anneandgilbert.com.
