Festival organizers at the Indian River Festival have announced a variety of musical performances this summer, including Maritime and Island artists.
“We are pleased that our lineup includes incredible Island artists like Tracy Cantin, Rose Cousins, Catherine Maclellan, the Indian River Festival Chorus and Jacques Arsenault in French Squeeze,” says Don Quarles, Executive Director of the Festival.
Sarah Hagen will perform two concerts as part of a Wine, Women & Wit mini concert series August 14 and August 28 at 7 pm. On August 14 Sarah offers a programme of piano works inspired by birds and birdsong, Fingers That Fly. The evening will feature music by Schumann and Liszt, among others, and Sarah’s commentary, peppered with a dash of humour. On August 28 Wonder Women! celebrates female composers. This performance will explore the compositions and lives of Clara Schumann, Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, Marianne von Martinez, and many more.
The summer season lineup also includes Jeremy Dutcher, The Once, Brett Polegato, VC2 Cello Duo, David Myles, Ironwood Quartet, JUNO Award winner The Fretless, The Small Glories, Saskatoon Children’s Choir, Dmitri Levkovich & Agne Radzeviciute, Scandinavian String Alliance, Lina Boudreau, Pro Coro, JUNO Award winner Shari Ulrich, Bach Sonatas with Mark Fewer & Hank Knox and more.
All summer concerts take place in Historic St. Mary’s Church on Hamilton Road in Indian River and the doors open one hour prior to concert time. The season will start with an open house June 7 at 1 pm.

A limited number of Indian River Festival summer concert series tickets will be available for purchase through Seaside Books in Summerside, when tickets go on sale April 2 at 10 am.
