Sugar Shack Books

PEI publishing house Pownal Street Press has launched Sugar Shack Books, a new romance imprint dedicated to contemporary love stories set in vivid Canadian landscapes. 

Sugar Shack Books will publish character-driven romance rooted in memorable places and authentic connection, with a focus on stories set across Canada.

The imprint will debut with Forever Is the Sweetest Con by Halifax-based author Joanna Thurlow. Set for release on June 16, the book has been selected as a Publishers Weekly Buzz Book and an American Booksellers Association top 10 Indie Introduce featured title for Summer/Fall 2026.
