Rendez-vous Rustico is celebrating its 25th anniversary all day on July 27 and 28. This edition of the festival will be marked by a partnership with the Fédération culturelle de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard (FCÎPÉ). This Francophone organization, whose goal is to ensure and sustain the cultural and artistic evolution of the Acadian and Francophone community of PEI, will bring its “Marché ARTisans” to Rustico. You’ll have the chance to buy local products and meet incredible artisans from the whole Island.
Rendez-vous Rustico will also maintain tradition. Lennie Gallant will offer a unique show with many surprises Sunday evening at St. Augustine’s Church. A child of Rustico, three time JUNO nominee and winner of 18 ECMA awards (including Fans’ Choice Entertainer of the Year in 2017), Lennie Gallant would not miss this concert. He says, “For me, Rendez-vous Rustico is always the most fun show of the year!” For more than 20 years, Lennie has gained the loyalty of audiences from around the world who come back year after year to watch him sing on stage of the oldest wooden church on PEI.
Since 1994, Rendez-vous Rustico festival has touched the souls of Islanders and visitors alike. In creating this festival, Maude Desjardins, then president of the Conseil acadian de Rustico, wanted to highlight Acadian and francophone culture and joy. It is in this spirit that the Conseil Acadien de Rustico, a not-for-profit organization representing the Acadians, Francophones and Francophiles of Grand-Rustico, coordinates the planning and implementation of this event.
