Tanya Nicolle
Tanya Nicolle MacCallum (stage name Tanya Nicolle) is a writer, and comedian from PEI, Canada. Her dark humour, coupled with goofy insights, shines a light on her struggles with mental illness.
Tanya has received numerous accolades for her writing, including five Island Literary Awards; as well as two Writing of Excellence Awards, on behalf of the premier of Prince Edward Island. Tanya is a mental health advocate, PEI Writers’ Guild board Member, and continues to contribute to the arts in various capacities.
Tanya has a double degree (BSc) in both Biology & Psychology, as well as a minor in Theatre Studies. She completed a specialized year in Playwrighting, as well as studied introductory Art Therapy (2011). In 2015, Tanya entered the accelerated nursing program at UPEI, but left before completing her degree to work in mental health in her community. She eventually found her way back to the arts – throwing herself into Stand-up Comedy where she continues to evolve. While she may be a fairly new comic, she has traveled Eastern Canada, and has featured at various prestigious venues.
