Jessica Gallant
Jessica Gallant is a multifaceted performer hailing from Prince Edward Island. She has been seen on stage and screen across Canada, most recently creating and starring in the sold out world premiere of Becoming Dolly at the Charlottetown Festival. She is making her film director debut with her original short film, Edna, in 2025 with the support Film PEI.
In 2019, she portrayed the role of Aphrodite in the North American premiere of Mythic at the Segal Centre for which she won BroadwayWorld Montreal’s Vocalist and Performer of the Decade. In 2021, Jessica joined the Bad Hats Company at Soulpepper to create the Toronto premiere of Alice in Wonderland, which went on to win multiple Dora Awards in Toronto.
In 2010, Jessica joined the Young Company at the Charlottetown Festival and continued to perform for the Festival for six seasons. Most notably, she was the second Islander in the 51 year history of Anne of Green Gables The Musical to play the title role, Anne Shirley. She recently starred in the short film “In My Heart” which can be viewed on CBC Gem. She can also been seen as Gertie Gallant on the Bell Fibe TV show The Community Players. The Community Players is a hilarious mockumentary that follows a community theatre group in rural PEI.
Other credits at the Charlottetown Festival included the World Premiere of Evangeline staring Chilina Kennedy, Mamma Mia!, Alice Through the Looking Glass and Canada ROCKS!, as well as Marty/Sandy Understudy in Grease at the Winter Garden Theatre, Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Ariel in the Little Mermaid (Drayton Entertainment), Savannah in Freaky Friday (Theatre Aquarius), and Diggstown (CBC).
Jessica’s self-titled debut EP (2016) was nominated for three Music PEI Awards including Country Recording of the Year, Female Solo Recording of the Year, and New Artist of the Year. Jessica made her Cavendish Beach Music Festival debut in 2016 on the RBC Emerging Artist Stage.
