Now in its 80th year, the PEI Kiwanis Music Festival Association’s four regional festivals take place at venues across PEI in May. These events offer a valuable opportunity to support and celebrate young musicians in the Island community, providing students with a meaningful performance experience in a supportive, adjudicated environment. They promote musical growth through both competitive and non-competitive classes, welcoming participants of all ages and levels. While many take part locally, some advance to the PEI Provincial Festival and, with adjudicator recommendation, to the National Music Festival.

The Kings County Music Festival (KCMF) runs May 4–7 at Hillcrest United in Montague, with piano, voice, choral, and instrumental classes. This year’s adjudicator is Elaine Boulanger of Saint John, New Brunswick—a multi-faceted artist with over 35 years of experience as a music director, adjudicator, voice and piano instructor, choral conductor, clinician, collaborative pianist, and church music liturgist. The public is invited to attend. The festival concludes with an Awards Night Concert on May 11 at 6:30 pm at Hillcrest United.

The Queens County Music Festival runs May 4–15 at venues across Charlottetown. The West Prince Music Festival runs May 4–8 at the Church of the Nazarene in O’Leary, and the East Prince Music Festival runs May 5–6 at Trinity United in Summerside.

The Provincial Finals will take place May 28–31, with an expanded three- to four-day format designed to create a more relaxed and rewarding experience for performers.
