Other Duties as Required: Stories from My Teaching Career
Dale McIsaac

The public is invited to attend the launch of PEI author Dr. Dale McIsaac’s book, Other Duties as Required: Stories from My Teaching Career, at 6:30 pm on June 29 at Beaconsfield Carriage House in Charlottetown.
Every teacher knows that being an educator involves much more than just standing at the front of a classroom. Dale McIsaac, a long-time teacher and principal, learned this lesson from the very first day of his practicum. Other Duties as Required is a collection of some of the most memorable stories spanning McIsaac’s 37-year career, starting with his early days teaching in Boiestown, NB, to returning to PEI for a long career in teaching and administration.
With the same dry wit as Stuart MacLean, McIssac recalls coaching basketball, hijinks in the break room, the pranks played with his colleagues, and heart-warming homages to important people he worked with along the way.
McIsaac lives in Donagh, PEI, with his wife, Ann-Marie. They have two adult sons, Dean and Luke. Throughout his career, McIsaac coached 150 teams at the school, community, provincial, and college levels. He remains an active volunteer with local and provincial watershed organizations. McIsaac has received the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Medal and the King Charles III Coronation Medal. This is his third book.
