Join Dena and discover the world of traditional Persian dance. This style of solo dance is improvisational, often utilizing delicate, graceful movements of the hands and arms with animated facial expressions which are central to the concept of that difficult-to-define flirtatiousness. Persian classical dance has not been organized and codified, so each dancer creates her own style and improvises within a recognizably Persian framework of movements. Costumes for these types of dance feature rich silks, brocades and flowing long skirts. Classes start January 12 and run every Thursday from 5–6 pm. This session runs for 8 weeks, but drop ins are welcome anytime. Contact the studio at about purchasing a 10 class block package, which gets you one class for free.
