The Glucose Grind
The Glucose Grind is back for its second year, set to take place in Charlottetown on June 27, bringing together runners, walkers, and community supporters to raise funds for vulnerable Islanders living with diabetes. Organized in partnership with the Community Foundation of PEI, the event ensures that all donations directly support Islanders who struggle to afford essential diabetes-related needs, including medical supplies and nutritious food. Following a successful inaugural year that saw runners and cyclists complete a 65-kilometre journey from Kensington to Charlottetown and raise over $10,000, the 2026 event will introduce a new, more accessible format. This year moves to a 4-kilometre loop around Victoria Park, where participants are invited to see how many laps they can complete over six hours. Participants can walk, run or bike, and do so for as long as they like. All donations are eligible for tax receipts, ensuring that every dollar raised goes directly to supporting Islanders in need.
