Summer Garden Tours

The Summerside and Area Garden Club is offering its annual Summer Garden Tours this season, with free tours held on Sunday afternoons from 1–4 pm, rain or shine. 

The July 5 tour include the Summerside gardens of Guy Jacquart (111 Hillside Ave), Stella Wallace-Chagnon (143 Granville St), Audra and Michael MacBeth (455 Tower St), and the Prince County Hospital Garden (65 Roy Boates Ave).

On July 12, the tour feature Serenity Gardens, owned by Alan and Heather Thorpe (45 South Dr), Michelle Hirtle (2691 Rte 11, Miscouche), Heron’s Nest Sanctuary, owned by Brian and Bev Cooper (1344 Mont Carmel Rd, Mont Carmel), and House of Wind and Wildflowers, owned by Amy Arsenault (1964 MacIsaac Rd, Richmond).

The July 19 tour will showcase the gardens of Jonathan and Anne Christensen (1515 Burlington Rd, Burlington), Carl and Marlene Toombs (7030 Rte 13, Mayfield), Sue Albrecht (254 Toronto Rd Extension, Rte 13, Mayfield), and Devon Perry and Mary-Ellen Nicholson (1430 Church Rd, Wheatley River).

The July 26 tour will feature the gardens of Dean and Anna MacDonald (245 Colin Ave, Summerside), Roberta Gaudet (30 Townsend Cres, Travellers Rest), Rhonda Milley (26 Fenway Farm Lane, Kelvin Grove, off Blue Shank Rd), and Janie Gaudet (112 Victoria St, West Kensington).

Visitors can tour the gardens in any order and are encouraged to ask questions, take notes, and to bring sunscreen and insect repellent. Supervised children are welcome. Do not pick flowers, seeds, or weeds without permission.
