Annual Neil Bennett Autumn Birding Classic

The 32nd annual Neil Bennett Autumn Birding Classic returns September 26. Island Nature Trust and Nature PEI organize this PEI conservation tradition, which celebrates migratory birds and raises vital funds for natural areas conservation on the Island.

Participants can rally a team or head out solo, collect pledges, and head outside on September 26 to spot as many bird species as they can within the full 24-hour period. Birding can take place anywhere, including participants’ own backyards.

This citizen science event captures a valuable snapshot of bird species moving through PEI during autumn migration. Results are published in the Island Naturalist, contributing to decades of important research.
