Provincial funding strengthens diversity and inclusion efforts

Thirty-two local community organizations are receiving funding to support diversity and inclusion projects across the province. This year, Women’s Network PEI is one of the organizations receiving funding through the Gender, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion (GEDI) and Community Engagement Program to enhance inclusion and community connection in PEI. Since the program launched in 2022, a total of $2.4 million has been distributed to over 56 local organizations for 82 projects. This continued investment demonstrates the province’s commitment to equity and inclusion efforts. Through the bilateral agreement between the Governments of Canada and PEI to support the National Action Plan to End Gender Based Violence, the Interministerial Women’s Secretariat contributed $150,000 toward the annual $600,000 fund advancing gender-based violence prevention efforts.
