The Indian River Festival Board of Directors has announced the appointment of Kate Gracey-Stewart as their new Executive Director. Kate assumed the role on November 4, 2019.
“The Indian River Festival has many opportunities for growth right now and we are thrilled to have a leader who understands the performing arts sector,” says Fred Martin, president of the Indian River Festival Board of Directors. “Kate brings a wealth of knowledge to this role and is the right person to guide the Indian River Festival into the future while nurturing and preserving its history and origins.”
Kate has over 15 years experience in the business and performing arts sectors both as an independent consultant and in management roles with organizations like Atlantic Presenters Association, Music PEI and the East Coast Music Association. She brings a diverse background that includes experience in project management, strategic planning, and communications.
In recent years, through her work at the Atlantic Presenters Association, Kate has been involved in creating and implementing an annual conference to further the development and sustainability of the festival-presenting sector in Atlantic Canada. She says that she looks forward to taking this knowledge to the Indian River Festival as she leads them into their 25th anniversary year.
