Luminos Ensemble, PEI’s professional chamber choir, has announced its 2019-2020 Season, which includes three eclectic concerts. “Following a second season that was based on discovering and building musical communities, our new season is a more introspective musical exploration of how music shapes and defines us culturally, and as individuals.” says Artistic Director Dr. Margot Rejskind.

Luminos Ensemble’s season begins in October 2019 with “Life Is But A Dream: Childhood Lyrics For Grownups,” a lighthearted musical celebration of childhood, including lullabies both new and old, nonsense songs, Old MacDonald, and Alice in Wonderland. In February 2020, the ensemble will present “Immortal Bach,” featuring two of J.S. Bach’s choral motets, as well as related works by Johannes Brahms, Knut Nystedt, and Paul Simon. Finally, in May 2020, the season concludes with “We Are The Light Of Stars,” an exploration of more than 1000 years of music inspired by humanity’s obsession with the heavens.

Upcoming performances include Life Is But A Dream: Childhood Lyrics For Grownups on October 6, Immortal Bach on February 2, and We Are The Light Of Stars on May 3.
