Love Local Live at the Historic North Bedeque School Hall features local songwriters and artists on Sundays from 3–4:30 pm.

The series continues with Olivia Blacquiere on August 2. Raised on PEI amid kitchen parties, fiddle tunes, and tall tales passed down through generations, Blacquiere draws inspiration from the Island’s rich cultural traditions and the step dancers, storytellers, and musicians who nurtured her love of music from an early age. Blending East Coast folk influences with vivid storytelling, she writes songs filled with mischief, memories, and the winding roads that shape us.

Performing on August 9 is Summerside singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dakota Oliver. She first gained recognition in the PEI music scene as a young prodigy, winning the 2010 PEI Youth Talent Competition at age 14. She is known for writing original songs and creating music alongside her family.

Charlottetown-based pianist and composer Max Keenlyside will perform on August 23. He began playing music at the age of 9 and has since amassed a formidable catalogue of more than 60 original compositions. Keenlyside performs with plenty of pep and energy, and his shows are laced with humour while remaining faithful to the spirit and intent of the original composers. He is known for his renditions of works by Jelly Roll Morton, James P. Johnson, Eubie Blake, and other stride and early jazz composers.
