Lively stages this spring

Confederation Centre is busy with entertainment

Gravity and Other Myths

From contemporary circus and choral music to student showcases, symphonic storytelling, and dance, the stages at Confederation Centre of the Arts will be busy this spring with artists of all ages and disciplines.

April begins with an internationally acclaimed performance as Gravity & Other Myths bring Ten Thousand Hours to the Sobey Family Theatre on April 14 at 7 pm. Featuring eight world-class acrobats, the production offers a thrilling display of strength, balance, and gravity-defying physical skill in a contemporary circus setting.

On April 18, the Confederation Youth Chorus presents its spring concert, The Needs We Feed, at 11:30 am in Memorial Hall. The concert celebrates who we are and what fulfills us, both as individuals and members of a community. Later that day, at 3 pm at The Mack, primary and elementary musical theatre students take the stage for Fairy Tales and Footlights, celebrating a year of hard work, creativity, and growth.

Choral and musical theatre performances continue on April 25 at 2 pm in Memorial Hall with the Confederation Singers’ spring concert, Circles of Song, exploring the rhythms of the natural world through choral music inspired by the seasons and the cycles that shape our lives. That evening at 6:30 pm, intermediate and senior musical theatre students present Fairy Tales and Footlights at The Mack. This lively end-of-year showcase features songs, dance, and acting inspired by fairy tales—with a twist.

The programming extends into May with the PEI Symphony Orchestra presenting Once Upon a Score: The Music of Hollywood on May 3 at 3 pm in the Sobey Family Theatre.

The dance umbrella year-end recitals take place on May 9 in the Sobey Family Theatre and include Heroes and Legends at 2 pm, followed by Muses, Myths, and Mosaics at 7 pm, with each performance offering a distinct program showcasing the work of dance umbrella students.
