Lennon Recovery House dinner fundraiser

An Evening of Inspiration and Hope

Lennon Recovery House

An Evening of Inspiration and Hope for Lennon Recovery House will take place at the Rodd Charlottetown Hotel on November 20 from 6–9 pm.

Master of Ceremony Zack Bell will welcome guests Dr. George Carruthers from PEI Addictions Treatment Facility and Queen St. Recovery Clinic, and Patricia Doiron, an Islander recovery advocate. Kelley Mooney, a local singer-songwriter, will provide entertainment. Filled with inspiration and hope, the evening will include dinner, dessert, door prizes and possibly a spontaneous cake auction.

The fall fundraising dinner is being held to fill gaps in Lennon House’s operational budget. The shortfall of operational funding is 18–20 per cent annually, resulting in almost $200,000 needed to keep the basic operations met. Basic operational costs include providing 24 hour recovery care for 23 Island residents maintaining a substance-free lifestyle at any given time. While Lennon House is fortunate to receive partial provincial funding and benefit from a dedicated community of support, it still faces a massive shortfall in its day-to-day budget for 2024—25. Essential services such as transportation rely on donations and fundraising efforts.
