Island troubadour Rose Cousins has released the second single from her forthcoming new album, Bravado. Entitled, “The Fraud,” the new song is described by Rose as “the seed of the whole project…a simultaneous gut punch and light bulb.”
Rose has also released a video for “The Fraud,” an emotive performance, captured live at Confederation Centre of the Arts on the mainstage, with accompaniment from the Atlantic String Machine. The video was directed by Shehab Illyas, with sound by Adam Gallant, and lighting assistance by Marijka Wren Haines.
The Centre mainstage will play host to Rose again for her official hometown album launch for Bravado on March 21 at 7:30 pm. The launch will include support from John Paul White.
The Pride of Kensington, PEI, Rose will release her new album world-wide on February 21 on Outside Music. The songwriter describes the album as the sound of a heart trying to open. “It explores the complication of emotion, its irrational tendencies, and its wisdom,” she offers. “It invites us to feel the courage it takes to be vulnerable.”
