On behalf of the Lennox Island and Abegweit First Nation Councils, Chief Darlene Bernard and Chief Junior Gould recently announced the appointment of Jenene Wooldridge as the first Executive Director for L’nuey, the PEI Mi’kmaq Rights Initiative.
L’nuey is governed by the PEI Mi’kmaq leadership, the Epekwitk Assembly of Councils—Lennox Island and Abegweit First Nation Councils. It is responsible for the work of negotiations, consultations and governance development related to the recognition and implementation of Mi’kmaq Rights.
Jenene Wooldridge is passionate about her PEI Mi’kmaq community and committed to advancing the interests of the Mi’kmaq and all Indigenous people. She has served for over a decade in senior management with the Abegweit First Nation.
