Victoria Playhouse is hosting Press Play on New Horizons, a fundraising concert on September 25 at 7:30 pm. The evening features special guest Shane Pendergast and other well-loved Island and community performers, including music ensemble Woodsmoke, step dancer Emily Hughes accompanied by Morgan Wagner on violin, singer-songwriter Megan Ellands, and more.

The Playhouse is entering a new era. After 44 years of presenting a summer-only theatre and music festival, Victoria Playhouse Inc. is taking on year-round stewardship of the historic Victoria Community Hall, home of Victoria Playhouse in picturesque Victoria-by-the-Sea. Programming will gradually expand into the spring and fall, creating new opportunities for community members and artists from PEI and beyond to create, learn, connect, and share in the magic of the performing arts.

Funds raised will support the season expansion and the development of new and diverse theatre programming on stage and behind the scenes through Theatre School classes and workshops for children and adults. 

The evening will also include fun surprises and plenty of community spirit as the Playhouse honours its past and looks toward a bright future.
