DESCRIPTION:The public is invited to join the Black Cultural Society of 
 PEI on August 1 as they commemorate Emancipation Day and celebrate the r
 esilience\, contributions\, and diverse cultures of people of African de
 scent\, including historic Black Islanders and communities from across t
 he global Black diaspora.\n\n\n\nThe festivities will take place from 3â
 €“6 pm at The Bog (Rochford Square) in Charlottetown. Activities will in
 clude a ceremonial raising of flags representing nations and cultures ac
 ross the Black diaspora\, music and cultural performances\, cultural dis
 plays and exhibits\, food and refreshments\, and opportunities for commu
 nity connection\, reflection\, and celebration.\n\n\n\nFollow the Black
