DESCRIPTION:This season at The Haviland\, Tea & Tales invites guests into a Victorian-inspired tea and storytelling experience inside one of Charlottetown’s historic homes. \nGuests gather around shared tables as tea is poured and tiered stands arrive with sandwiches\, scones with preserves and cream\, and a selection of desserts. Throughout the experience\, stories inspired by Victorian Charlottetown\, the house itself\, and the people connected to it will unfold in the Great Room. \nAt the centre of the story is Esther Lowden—believed to be one of PEI’s earliest female entrepreneurs and among Canada’s first businesswomen. In a time when women were rarely recognized in business\, Esther built a remarkable life through determination\, hospitality\, and vision. Over time\, much of her story faded into history.  \nThis year marks the 190th anniversary of her birth. Attendees will have a chance to rediscover and celebrate a woman who helped shape a small part of the Island’s past.  \nFor visitors\, it offers a different way to experience Charlottetown beyond the usual itinerary. Webster\, Keelin Wedge and Fiona MacCorquodale\, returns to Hillcrest United in Montague this summer\, with shows on Thursdays at 8 pm from July 2 to September 24. \nFiddlers’ Sons invite a different musical guest to join them each week for a night of PEI roots music and storytelling. This year’s guests include ECMA Award winners and nominees\, Music PEI Award winners\, veteran performers\, and up-and-coming young talent. The season kicks off July 2 with two of Kings County’s best\, Lester MacPherson and Emery Kenny\, joining Fiddlers’ Sons on stage. \nThe July lineup continues with special guests The Ellis Family Band (9)\, Lawrence Maxwell and Isaac King: A Tribute to Merle Haggard (16)\, Cynthia MacLeod with Todd MacLean and Gordon Belsher (23)\, and Brooke MacArthur with Isaac King (30). \nIn August\, the special guests are Liv Deagle\, Aggy Deagle and Frankie Evans “Valkyrie” (6)\, Steven Somers and The Red Wing Black Birds (13)\, Billy MacInnis and Leon Gallant (20)\, and Tip Er Back (27). \nIn September\, special guests include Gordie MacKeeman and The Rhythm Boys (3)\, Keelin Wedge and Christine Cameron—The Salt Water Dollies (10)\, Kendall Docherty with Peter Burke and Brian Langille (17)\, and Kim Albert and Mike Arsenault (24). \nAdmission is at the door; no advance tickets.

This tragic shipwreck was immortalized in song by the great Canadian songwriter Gordon Lightfoot. \nIn a Harmony House world premiere\, Mike Ross\, along with a band of extraordinary Island musicians and storytellers\, will bring the story of this ill-fated ship to life. Blending concert performance with comedy and easy\, join-in moments\, C’Mon In! reflects a tradition where shared songs and stories shape the experience as much as the music itself. \nThe show is led by Island artists Robbie Doherty and Pierce Clarke\, whose shared background in music and storytelling anchors the production. Clarke\, a PEI-born multi-instrumentalist and Berklee College of Music graduate\, brings performances shaped by Island life and personal narrative. Doherty contributes a diverse career spanning tribute bands\, ECMA-nominated children’s recordings\, theatre\, and broadcasting. Through music\, storytelling\, and performance\, the production takes audiences on an emotional journey through struggle\, triumph\, activism\, artistry\, and international stardom. \nMore than a musical\, Coming Home is a celebration of resilience\, identity\, and the unbreakable spirit of Black women whose artistry transformed culture and history. The production highlights the enduring impact these trailblazing women continue to have on generations of artists and audiences around the world. \nComing Home is written and directed by award-winning Toronto-based artist and filmmaker\, KhaRå Martin\, who also stars as Josephine Baker. Martin is the host of Black Community Mixtapes (CityTV/OYA Media Group). Her work has been featured at TIFF Next Wave\, CineFAM Film Festival\, and CBC Gem. As a playwright and director\, she continues to tell stories that center the voices and experiences of Black women in Canada and beyond. \nThe Toronto-based cast features Precious Osarenkhoe as Nina Simone and Christina Smith as Jessye Norman\, alongside a creative team that includes Executive Producer Monique Armstrong (Media With Mo) and Bianca Garcia. \nDoors open at 7:30 pm.
