DESCRIPTION:The spring art rotation at The Gallery – Coffee House & Bistro in Charlottetown features Quartette: Four Voices in Fibre\, an exhibition of rug hooking works by New Brunswick artist Katherine DeVere-Pettigrew and Prince Edward Island artists Carol Gabanna\, Carol Moffatt\, and Darlene Rhodenizer. The exhibition runs from March 2 to May 31 at 82 Great George Street\, Charlottetown. \nQuartette: Four Voices in Fibre presents the work of four contemporary fibre artists whose practices are rooted in rug hooking and expanded through experimentation. Working on PEI and in NB\, the artists are connected by a shared passion for self-expression and creativity\, and a deep engagement with fibre\, colour\, and loops of yarn. Together\, these four voices form a quartette—where individual approaches coexist in collective visual harmony. They share a love of shaping the quiet elegance of wool and hope visitors will be delighted\, inspired\, and curious. \nThe artists will celebrate the launch of their show with a free Opening Reception on March 5 from 6–8 pm. Everyone is welcome. The exhibition can be viewed during regular café hours\, 8 am–5 pm daily. All pieces are for sale.

DESCRIPTION:The Forgive-me-nots return this month with a pair of relaxed\, accessible live shows at the Glenaladale Schoolhouse\, presenting Acoustic Jazz at Sunset on May 9 and May 16. \nFeaturing ECMA Award-nominated guitarist Rob Drew and the smooth vocals of Harmony Wagner\, the ensemble is known for paring down world-famous jazz classics into their most intimate\, listenable form. Musically\, audiences can expect a mix of jazz standards made famous by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald\, Julie London\, Billie Holiday\, Anita O’Day\, Amy Winehouse\, and more. \nEach event will feature a completely different set list and a sing-along song—“Georgia” by Hoagy Carmichael on May 9 and “Cheek to Cheek“ by Irving Berlin on May 16. \nThe Glenaladale Schoolhouse—located 22 minutes from Charlottetown—offers a stunning view of Tracadie Bay. The shows are scheduled to coincide with the sun sinking directly behind the musicians to provide a natural backdrop as the light shifts throughout the performance. \nSeating will be cabaret style\, encouraging folks to get up and dance if the feeling moves them\, partake in the licensed cash bar and goodies offered up by the Schoolhouse Cafe\, step out to watch the moonrise on the deck\, or explore the nuances of the facility. \nWith limited seating\, reserving tickets in advance is encouraged by emailing info@glenaladalepei.com\, but tickets will be cash only at the door. \nDoors open at 7:30 pm.
