To The Front—Jam Session #2

To The Front, an open jam session and community hang-out focused on getting more women involved in the music scene, takes place at Beaconsfield Carriage House on January 16 at 6:30 pm.

Presented by Music PEI, this event offers a supportive space and community resources to help overcome the barriers that women and gender diverse folks face in participating in the local music scene. Attendees can bring their own instruments and jam, hang out and chat, and share helpful advice and resources to help get more girls out in the scene. All levels of music experience are welcome, though some familiarity is a must. Amps, drum kit and backline will be provided. This event is open to everyone, and all are welcome to attend and participate, regardless of gender. The open jam session is focused on anyone who may be patriarchally discriminated against based on their gender identity and resonates with the experiences of women in music. Depending on attendance, priority time-slots may be given to those individuals that this event intends to empower. Food and beverage will be provided while supplies last.

Funded by Women in Music Canada. Presented by Music PEI and community partners Old Blood Shows, Secret Beach, and Side Bang Shows.
