The PEi Bluegrass Fundraising Concert
The PEI Bluegrass & Old Time Music Society is presenting two fundraising concerts this month in support of its 39th annual PEI Bluegrass & Old Time Music Festival, scheduled for July 3–5 at the Dundas Fairgrounds.
The PEI Bluegrass Fundraising Concert on May 31 at 2 pm will be held at The Barn Floor in Crapaud (Sherren Family Farm, Route 13), featuring PEI’s Bluestreak and The Stiff Family.
Music PEI Award winners Bluestreak include David Blue on bass, Roger Wightman on banjo and vocals, Larry Campbell on vocals, guitar, and mandolin, Peter Richards on dobro, and Marcella Richard on vocals and guitar. Their latest album is Rounding Third, which features fifteen new original songs by band members.
The Stiff Family lives on Prince Edward Island, keeping busy with their hobby farm while still making time to enjoy and play bluegrass music. The family includes Dave on guitar and Heather on bass, along with their children: Aaron on banjo and dobro, Hannah on mandolin, Elizabeth on fiddle, and Abigail on fiddle. The group is also known for the smooth vocal harmonies that only a family band can provide.
The Barn Floor is wheelchair-accessible, with admission at the door.
