The Fix-It Fair
The City’s annual Fix-it Fair will be held at the West Royalty Community Center on October 26 from 10 am–2 pm. Give personal broken items a renewed life at the Repair Café. Stop by different workshops and visit local community groups at the Community Resource Hub.
The Repair Café will feature “fixers” who have volunteered to repair various household items for free. The role of the fixers is not only to repair broken items but to share their knowledge so participants can perform similar repairs at home. Participants can bring in one item per person, such as a small appliance or item of clothing, to be repaired by the skilled on-site fixers.
During the Fix-It Fair, attendees can take part in free hourly workshops about using Charlottetown’s public transit service, basic sewing and mending skills, and hearing from Island Waste Management.
This event is a part of the City of Charlottetown’s Waste Reduction Week. For a full schedule of events visit Charlottetown.ca/WasteWeek.
