The Canadian Bandurist Capella: The Echo of Our Past – Voice of Our Future Anniversary Tour

The Canadian Bandurist Capella brings its 25th anniversary tour, The Echo of Our Past – Voice of Our Future, to St. Paul’s in Charlottetown on July 9 at 7 pm. Under the direction of Conductor Pavlo Fondera and Concert Master Ron Demeda, the performances celebrate 25 years of Ukrainian musical heritage while reflecting on contemporary global events through song.

The Echo of Our Past – Voice of Our Future Tour features a curated retrospective of the ensemble’s most powerful pieces from the last quarter-century. Alongside traditional Ukrainian choral arrangements and the resonant strings of Ukraine’s national instrument the bandura, the program will feature poignant modern pieces inspired by the ongoing war in Ukraine, offering audiences a profound connection to current cultural realities.

Established in 2001, the Canadian Bandurist Capella continues to explore the full versatility of the modern bandura within a male choral ensemble. Their goal is to popularize the bandura within the Canadian-Ukrainian community and beyond.
