The Annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb
The Kinkora and Area Volunteer Fire Department is hosting the annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at the Eastlink Centre Charlottetown on September 11 from 6–8 pm to honour FDNY firefighters and first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Participants will climb 110 stories to symbolically complete the heroic journey. The 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is open to all PEI firefighters. Participants will climb 110 stories and can take on the stair climb either individually or as a team. It is not a race. PEI firefighters will be wearing full bunker gear and SCBA, no mask and empty bottle (for safety) during the challenge. Together, each entry will be challenged to climb the equivalent of 110 stories of the World Trade Center to symbolically complete the remainder of their heroic journey.
Check-in and registration opens at 5:30 pm. All participants (individuals and teams) will begin at the same time.
Registration is by donation. All proceeds will be sent to the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation. To pre-register, contact evansimmons17@gmail.com
