Swim for the South Shore
Celebrate clean, healthy water on the South Shore of PEI with the third annual open-water swim on August 19 at 11 am-2 pm. All levels of swimmers welcome. Swimmers will be sent out into the bay at Victoria-by-the-Sea, each with a kayaker “buddy” for a 1 km (or optional ½ km) swim. You must register a kayaker or paddleboarder to accompany you on your swim. There is a registration fee, but they do not have to fundraise. Contact us if you do not have a support kayaker, as we will be able to provide a limited number. This bay swim begins at the boat launch and ends at the beach in front of By the Sea Kayaking, in Victoria-by-the-Sea. Local musician Megan Ellands will be performing on the wharf in Victoria-by-the-Sea from 11 am-2 pm. The registration fee is $20 for an individual and $40 for a family up to six people. We ask that each person or team raise a minimum of $50. The event benefits The South Shore Watershed Association, a registered charity that works to protect over 100 km of coastal water and streams. Registration includes a free membership to SSWA for one full year. Register here: raceroster.com/events/2023/77389/swim-for-the-south-shore-2023 Info: sswa@sswa.ca
