Summerside Garden Tours 2025
After an absence of six years the Summerside and Area Garden Club has announced the return Summer Garden Tour is back for 2025. Eighteen gardens will be showcased on Sunday afternoons from 1–4 pm this summer.
On July 13, the tour will visit the gardens of Colette Aucoin (5483 Rte 11, Mont Carmel), Gerhard Werner and Liz Parsons (old schoolhouse at 22 Union Corner Park Rd, Union Corner), Janice and Kevin Holloway (102 Union Corner Rd, Union Corner), and Jerry and Marilyn McQuaid (4413 Rte 12, Bayside).
The tours are free to attend and everyone is invited. There will be a donation box at one location on each tour day and the funds collected will be used to help the Garden Club in the maintenance and enhancement of the Prince County Hospital (PCH) courtyard garden. The club has been taking care of the PCH garden for over 20 years. Almost everytime they are there working in the garden, someone, whether it be a staff member, patient or visitor, makes a point of commenting on how wonderful the garden is, how peaceful and healing, and how fortunate they are to have such a place and thankful they are for the efforts of the Club’s volunteers.
Tours run on Sundays from July 6 to August 3 and visit a number of gardens in Summerside, Travellers Rest, Union Corner, Wellington, Tyne Valley, Bayview, Kensington, and more.
The Summerside and Area Garden Club meets the third Thursday of the month at the Wilmot Community Centre in Summerside. Follow on Facebook, email summersidegardenclub@gmail.com, or call 902-786-1348.
