Sloan
Over 30 years into their career, Sloan has grown from a promising Halifax band into a revered indie rock institution. Celebrated for their unwavering lineup and democratic approach – with all four members contributing as singers, songwriters, and multi-instrumentalists – the band has built a remarkably diverse catalogue. Their landmark 1994 album, Twice Removed, is consistently ranked as one of the greatest Canadian records of all-time. Their album One Chord to Another (1996) went gold in Canada, won a JUNO Award for Best Alternative Album, and is their best-selling album to date. In 2011, they marked their 20th anniversary with the album The Double Cross, which was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize. Their consistent musical output has earned them a devoted fanbase worldwide that continues to support them – their most recent album Steady (2022) is at 1.5 million streams across all platforms.
