Nursing Stories and Songs
Nursing Stories and Songs will take place at the Steele Recital Hall on the UPEI campus on April 23 at 4 pm and 8 pm. The evening is a tribute to the nursing profession and includes personal stories and original songs written and performed by Kevin Ryan, who is a Registered Nurse.
Nursing Stories and Songs will discuss themes familiar to nurses, such as death, suicidal ideation, horizontal violence, and judgment, as well as a reflection on the causes of compassion fatigue and burnout in nurses. Nurses in attendance will be offered an opportunity to participate in a research study as part of Kevin’s thesis for his Master of Nursing program. This would involve completing an anonymous online questionnaire following the event. Participation is 100% voluntary. Attendees do not have to be part of the study.
The performance runs about 60 minutes. Seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Though this event is aimed toward nurses, everyone is welcome to attend. There is no admission. Storm date is April 24.
