Natal Day Weekend Celebration

The City of Charlottetown will celebrate its 168th birthday with free, family-friendly Natal Day events taking place August 3–6. The public is invited to take part in activities, including an outdoor pancake breakfast, youth and older adults programming, a birthday party for Charlottetown, and more. To kick off the Natal Day Weekend, Charlottetown residents will be honoured at the Citizen Recognition and Make our Hometown Beautiful awards ceremony. Recipients of the awards, including the Forbes Kennedy Volunteer of the Year Award and the David ‘Eli’ MacEachern Bursary, will be announced following the closed event.

On August 5, join Mayor Brown and City Council for a free, traditional pancake breakfast and entertainment by Adam MacGregor and The Foes from 8:30-10:30 am at Rochford Square. Check out Outer Limits Sports at the Victoria Park Skateboard Park from 10 am-2 pm for a skateboard, BMX, and scooter competition. Helmets are mandatory, and prizes will be awarded. On-site registration begins at 9:30 am. The Summer Splash Party will allow you to cool down at the Victoria Park Pool while DJ Josh Hood spins all the summer hits from 1-3 pm. The Mayor & Council’s Older Adults Social will offer refreshments and live entertainment at Jack Blanchard Hall from 2-4 pm.

Also taking place during Natal Day weekend celebrations are the Island Fringe Festival, August 2-6, Sounds of the Waterfront music series, daily, and Downtown Farmers Market, August 6.
